Well after all my complaining I finally got to see Roving Mars in IMAX. It all of the sudden showed up at one of the local IMAX theaters. I must say it was worth the wait. A spectacular film! It actually brought tears to my eyes. Especially impressive was the launch sequence and the landing sequence. I had seen it many times before on TV and computer monitors, but seeing it on the gigantic IMAX screen was breathtaking. The attention to detail in recreating those sequences was impressive. It looked much better than what I had seen before. Only one little complaint was as usual they had sound in space. However I must admit that had they not had sound it wouldn’t have been as dramatic. A small percentage of the film was not in IMAX, but that was from some old footage of interviews with the scientists and engineers. You hardly noticed it. All in all it was a great show, and I highly recommend it to anyone, especially space buffs.
If you live in the Los Angeles area it is showing at:
