The Chilean Army reveals recordings and secret contacts with UFOs.

Santiago de Chile.- The Chilean Army revealed to the UFO community classified material on recordings and military encounters with UFOs during the last 30 years, the daily "El Mercurio" reported today.

The evidence was presented before 1000 people in the Tenth International Ufology Conference where a seven year old video was screened showing ships and helicopters of the Navy pursue a UFO also monitored by radar, according to Rodrigo Fuenzalida, director of the Ufological Investigations Group.

Another encounter occured 27 Mar 2000, when a Citation II military aircraft crossed paths at a 1000 meters altitude 100 kilometers from the capital with an unidentified object 40 meters long.

Release of the information was authorized by the head of the Army, Oscar Zurieta, and forms part of an official investigation carried out by a captain of the Fifth Army Division, Rodrigo Bravo, who took part in the encounter which occurred at the beach of Vina del Mar, 120 kilometers from Santiago de Chile.
