The city of Denton, Texas (about 5 miles up the road from here) has a biodiesel plant that not only recycles restaurant grease-trap contents, but is powered by methane from the municipal landfill.
Denton, btw, is a double college town -- U of North Texas, and Texas Women's U -- resulting in lots of restaurants.
Think of it like this: As long as our daily life is still based on the oxidation of carbon, this process manages to extract more work from the input... also called "efficiency".
