Some detector problems with Mars Reconnaissance camera

From a report in Nature about problems with the cameras on the Mars Reconnaissance orbiter.

Nature
“The High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) on board Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the newest and most powerful craft to arrive at the red planet, has lost its peripheral vision. And its colour vision is fading too.”

7 of 14 detectors are malfunctioning, although the camera is still returning data, and is expected to continue working for the next two years. Apparently another instrument, The Mars Climate Sounder, is also having problems.
