She concealed herself so she could be in the zoo after the staff went home, except (one supposes) for the security people, who can't be everywhere at once.

If she went nosing around looking for a key labelled "Cheetah Cage" in a place where she was not supposed to be at a time when no one was supposed to be there, I say the fault is all hers. It's not unreasonable for an organization to label keys intended only for the staff in a clear and straightforward manner.

The zoo should look into its security procedures, but you know, sometimes people are just dumb. It's too bad she died, especially so needlessly.

I got a perverse kick out of the remark made by one of her friends. "The cheetahs betrayed her trust", my fat Aunt Harriet. The cheetahs were being cheetahs. They have a vast number of teeth, all of which are intended to eat flesh. If humans are going to anthropomorphize animals, we have no right to expect the animals to play along.
