14th anniversary of WTC bombing
In which the terrorists failed to destroy the WTC. The materials used to construct the bomb cost about three hundred bucks, including the cyanide that was supposed to flood the ventilation system, but fortunately didn't.
Using the "treat it as an individual crime" philosophy of dealing with terrorism, current at that time, many of the perpetrators were arrested, properly tried in civilian courts, and imprisoned. Nothing more was done.
This made the WTC safe from terrorism.
