San Francisco must have changed since I was last there.

Let me see if I've got this straight. You'l have to forgive me, I'm not hip to what happens in Second Life, although I am vaguely aware of what it is and that it's players are sometimes known for their obsessive behavior...

A Democratic politician maintains a virtual persona or avatar on a virtual environment/game existing on the internet.

This site is invaded by alleged Republican vandals who leave virtual destruction and grafitti, while they identify themselves openly as Republicans and make no effort to disguise their political affiliations.

The Wired correspondent, from his tone, obviously is suspicious of this report, and either believes it is not true or it is exaggerated, or perhaps deliberately fabricated, or even a deliberate black-propaganda misdirection.

I don't have the confidence to proceed any further, I have exhausted my empirical resources. There are just too many layers of bullshit to penetrate here.

I think I'm starting to feel nostalgic for the days when street politics was carried out by real flesh-and-blood Pinkerton thugs, saber-wielding Cossacks, and mustachioed Anarchists hurling wooden shoes into the guts of the machines.
