SCOTUS has ruled and it is the law of the land. Unless we can pass a relevant constitutional amendment, which I personally do not support, we are stuck with it. And I would not want to see proponents of gun control engage in a vicious campaign of obstruction and sabotage like the Right has carried out in their attempts to frustrate Roe v Wade and Obamacare, or for that matter, everything else they don't like but can't defeat at the polls.
Still, although the Supremes have (in our opinion) misinterpreted the 2nd Amendment, it still has preserved and affirmed the right of the government to regulate firearms. Since I don't believe the right to own firearms should be banned altogether, this is a compromise I can live with.
Once again, democracy gets it right.
