Virtual memory in Windows is kind of a black art. I have mine set for about 2 GB, with 1.5 GB of RAM, so I guess I'm right around where I'm supposed to be.

There is no reason a well-built computer should ever have to be turned off. In fact, it's kind of hard on some components to turn them off and on. You'd better have good components, though.

I do turn mine off if I go on vacation or something, but it runs all night.

Needless to say, if you're online all that time, keep your defenses up.
