You're right.
That was before my time. Not that much before it, but enough.
And I must confess to not having read or purchased any underground comix, whatsoever when I came across them. I could never get past the "skuzzy" art. I may be missing a veritable goldmine of great writing, insight and social commentary - but that art...always reminded me of bathroom wall graffiti.
Alas, you have found something of which I am completely illiterate.
