re: Dogma update...

What I find amazing is that "we don't know for sure if it's true, but the consequences of being wrong are too horrible to take the chance" is almost word-for-word what Bush and others said about Iraq.

The Human Caused Global Warming proponents usually demand massive new controls over economies and human behavior. The politics behind this is thick enough to cut with a knife.

Almost all of them pertain to a new scarcity, more restrictions, rationing of our lifestyle, and economic contraction. I see few proponents of ideas that will reduce pollution yet allow us to live a prosperous Western lifestyle.

There are environmentalists who think nuclear power or other high-tech solutions will give us the best of both worlds. They are few and far between, and right now, they aren't running the show.

We have choices. Both directions could lead to serious problems, or maybe no problems at all. But so far, the debate has been one-sided on the risks.

As with Iraq, going ahead on limited information may not be without consequences.
