Proof of a crime, not yet.
If the NM guy was fired because he failed to respond to pressure from Domenicini and Wilson about an ongoing investigation, that's a problem. So far, we know of the pressure, we know they complained to the White House, we know the WH had a hand in making up the lists, and we know that Iglesisas was *not* on the early lists to be fired. He only shows up late in 2005, after his run-ins with the NM members of Congress and their complaints to the White House. Is that over the bar for probable cause, worthy of issuing some subpoenas, I'd say so.
In Carol Lam's case too, you have a USA who is prosecuting republicans for corruption, who is singled out as a "special problem", with the timing of such concerns apparently related to developments in her corruption cases, and essentially no documented evidence of any concerns about her performance on immigration or whatever the public reason-du-jour is. Smell funny? I'd say so.
