You're right, but it gets so frustrating.
Shuttle launches, the Mars rovers, space station components, etc. Why can't we build rockets like Soyuz or Proton that launch on schedule? Is that too much to hope for? I doubt the Russians would stop a launch for something as trivial as a flight of birds 5 miles away.
