First stage looked great - THEN - at stage seperation, the Kestrel engine slammed against the side of the interstage section as the two stages seperated. That put some rates onto the second stage, but after ignition it quickly straightened itself up.
Then - about the same time as fairing sep, I saw a ring come off the bottom of the Kestrel nozzle.
Finally, before the feed died, it looked like a circular diverging guidence solution going on, engine getting actuated into a circle and the upper stage getting a circular shimmy on in response, like a wierd pilot induced occilation.
And now Spaceflightnow is reporting that they lost telemetry. If I had to guess - damage to the Kestrel motor and/or guidance software on the upper stage put the thing into what became a tumble, thus LOS, and loss of mission.
They got 2/3rds of the way there - much better than the first try. Hopefully Elon has enough in the bank to try a third time.
