Congressional honeymoon over?
2007 was going to be the start of the New Age of the Democrats. New morals, new ways of doing things, throwing corruption out the window and shutting the Iraq War down cold in its tracks. The Great Turning. The American Mandate.
So far, the trend doesn't seem to be holding up, at least in the eyes of the public.
Gallup is not sure of the causes. John Hinderaker has his own theory:
I attribute this to the fact that the Democrats have no positive agenda. They patently have no interest in doing the people's business, and, similarly, show no interest in appealing to any element of the electorate other than the hard-core haters who form their base.
