Good points, McFly

I know many, many anti-war people, all up and down the spectrum. Even the most pacifistic ones who would flee the country before joning the military do not hold any animosity towards "The Troops", nor would fly, endorse or agree with any display which said "F(*& the Troops".

That said, the extremism, unilateralism, dishomesty (or outright incompetence, depending on the arguments agianst the case for dishonesty) and extremism exhibited by the Executive, and also his supporters, is not without damage to our country, or democracy and our 'Troops'.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. To the die-hard pseudo-religious supporters of the war and the administration "The Troops" are like "The Proletariat" or "The People" were to the Communists: A political slogan, a symbol... Something to profess endless love for, but not actual people dying in the trenches. Scratch a Communist, a Neocon, a religious right nut and a radical leftist and you find the same thing underneath.... Not a political doctrine per se, but a way of thinking about politics, the world and their own culture. A mode of thinking where the Nouns are variables, but the absolutism and moral tone is the same.
