No crime needed

Why do we keep coming back to this burden of providing some criminal bar to decide when impeachment is justified? The Constitution clearly makes impeachment a political process and not a criminal indictment. There is absolutely no requirement in the rules to prove the guy so much as littered. It's completely a balance of power issue where the Congress can remove a President that goes beyond "acceptible" powers.

If the House decides that they don't like the way the President combs his hair, they can vote to impeach him and, if the Senate comes up with a super-majority in agreement to convict, the guy's gone pure and simple.

Where we feel like we require proof of a crime is purely in the scared nature of congressmen that feel they have to answer for their votes to their constituents and they want an easy sell back home. It is by no means required.
