Despite the best attempt at Argument By Authority, I stand by my opinion based on the same two things:
1. The United Nations did a similar survey at about the same time as Lancet's first (100,000) survey, using the same methodology, and a household sample twenty times larger. They came up with 24,000. This neutralizes pretty much all of the "methodology" arguments, which is all this article brings to the table. The basic techniques may be sound, but as the article points out, there are other issues.
2. No other source, including some tabulators that are virulently anti-war, has come up with a number even remotely close to the Lancet ones.
Current Events » in reply to "- - - the method was "tried and tested". 655,000 Iraqis dead due to war.
Nope. Still crap.
