The third post on that page of the thread was the genesis of that image (and other Kodak Moments not yet downlinked) being taken.
All credit to Richard Hendricks ( hendric ) who put in the time to figure out when and where the best Kodak Moments would be for the New Horizons flyby, and major kudos to Alan Stern, John Spencer and the New Horizons team for being bold enough to ask.
That's an MVIC image - and higher resolution greayscale LORRI images of the same scene were taken but will not be down the pipe for a while. Once they are a low-res colour + high res greyscale composite can be done as has been done with best Io image so far.
