Great news, for whatever the reason Aminojihad really did it. I expected they were going to drag this out and get every bit of propaganda value they could out of it. I don't think he did it out of fear of an impending anti-nuclear strike masquerading as a hostage relief mission, although he may very well have been overly paranoid about those battle groups converging. Sometimes the bad guys miscalculate too.

I think the full celebration should be postponed until the sailors are on British soil, but my guess is that what happened here may actually be exactly what it seems...a local Iranian commander, rightly or wrongly interpreted the Brit boarding party as an illegal intrusion and executed his orders to the letter by seizing them. This may have precipitated an unplanned international crisis Amigodinodoodah had not really been prepared to properly exploit, and he decided to quit while he was still ahead. At least, let's hope so.
