If it ain't broke...

The first Logan's Run novel, published in 1967, was very good and
ahead of its time in terms of style and tech talk. The 1976 film
was okay but not nearly as good and the ending was oy.

But do they really need to do a remake? Only if they follow the
novel this time. They redid Rollerball in 2000 and it was definitely
a comment on how things have changed since 1975 - and not for
the better.

Then you got guys like Lucas "reimaging" not only Star Wars but
his far deeper THX-1138.

Just leave the originals alone, Hollywood. You can't see their
deeper meanings and the better stories and characters they
created, all without $200 million budgets and CGI.
