As for torture, I realize you think it is pandemic. I watched "Batman Begins" recently and he tortured a guy for information by dropping him several stories and stopping him just before he hit the pavement. A popular TV icon, Jack Bauer, regularly tortures (reluctantly) to get information.

We have discussed torture ad nauseum on this board and almost everyone here agrees that torture should not be policy but would be justified if the results are life saving, reliable and the torturer is willing to be held accountable. The torture that was exposed was criminal and ridiculous. The perps have been punished. If you wish to believe that orders to commit the crimes came from the White House, fine.

If I post a criticism of pedophiles on CE should it be moved to Flame because it might offend a pedophile?
