These people seem to be completely opposed to everything their opponents support or believe, just on general principles, even when they have nothing to do with the issues at hand. The Trident upgrade is a perfect example, there may be good reasons for not upgrading Trident (like using the funding for conventional force enhancement, or converting Britain's Cold War deterrent into a more realistic nuclear force de frappe) but avoiding international instability is not one of them.
These guys are just as wacky as the Bushies, only in the opposite direction.
