So, DOW Chemical in 1988 should have known that Saddam might engineer normal pesticides into weapons of mass destruction...
...yet Iran's refining of uranium should create no concern in a reasonable person that they will create nuclear weapons with it.
Sometimes I'm amazed that the different parts of your brain don't fly off in different directions.
But that's neither here nor there, because getting down to brass tacks: The sale of the pesticides by DOW Chemical was in December of 1988.
The Iran-Iraq War, the attacks on Kurdish villages, and all the other major uses of CW by Saddam, predate that.
The following information is based on Volume 3 of the Duelfer Report:
"Project 922," an Iraqi CW program, was initiated in June of 1981, and a major CW production facility (the Al Muthanna State Establishment, or "MSE") was built by German firms between 1982 and 1983 under cover of a pesticide production facility. Whether the Germans knew this or not, I don't know. Saddam completed his own precursor manufacturing facilities before December of 1988, building three production plants near Fallujah, all completed by 1988.
The DOW sale was obviously not a critical part, if any part at all, of the Iraqi CW program.
I won't even go into all your posts about how much better off everyone in the Middle East was when Saddam was in charge. There's enough pressure on the inside of your skull as it is.
