April 24 1967....40 years ago....
A few days after Surveyor 3 landed, a total lunar eclipse occured on april 24 1967 and its camera took the only picture of the event as seen from the Moon (or a solar eclipse):
That same day, Vladimir Komarov was struggling with the Soyuz 1 spacecraft (one solar panel didn't unfold) and at landing, the parachute didn't open...He was the first to die coming back from space.
