We aren't hearing anything about the "or else" political involvement of the Iraqi government. We are't hearing how they are holding up their end, meeting their obligations.
We aren't hearing how a car bomb isn't violent, or that it's not sectarian. This Administration has cut out deaths from car bombs when they talk about a reduction of sectarian violence.
There are reports a postponement of the time to measure the progress. We aren't hearing about progress being visible in early summer, as Bush said we would.
We haven't heard about "democracy" for Iraq anymore. Nothing.
We aren't hearing how even with all the foreign troops it's safe to walk the streets of Baghdad, the capital city of the country, 4 years after MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
We aren't hearing how to get the 2 million of the Iraqi intelligentsia and professionals, the people who could afford to leave, how to get them back to that gutted country. We haven't heard how to replace the doctors, architects, the teachers, professors, nurses, businessmen, the heart of the human infrastructure, how to get them back. Iraq once had superb healthcare within the limits of the Bush sanctions.
And this administration isn't hearing the American people who want to stop their troops from killing and being killed. Isn't hearing the Iraqi people who want the foreign occupiers who have turned the country into a hell beyond Saddam's imagination gone.
Deafening silence.

The "Surge" - what we aren't hearing. It's a lot.
