Every now and then, there comes a time...

When we need to put into action what we have preached all along.

We had a horrific thunderstorm (again...tornadoes, hail in some areas, 80 mph wind gusts, flash flooding). Electricity is out for 300,000 in Tarrant County, and 200,000 for Dallas County. The electric company has stated that it could take up to a week to restore power.

My son and his girlfriend have no power. Their food is now spoiled, and they have an enormous saltwater fish tank with a Huma Huma Trigger fish that requires round the clock filtration/oxygenation. They have had this fish for 3 years, ever since he was a 'baby'. That fish is as mean as a junk yard dog, and the size of a football, now. They can not introduce any other fish, because 'Huma" thinks it is his Thanksgiving meal each time. The boy has an incredible ecosystem going on in that tank. The kids just love that damned critter.

I have taught them well. I am a lover of all Gods' creatures great and small. My family has the utmost respect for all lifeforms.

They were frantic last night, because death is iminent for Huma, should the power be truly out for a week.

$500.00 later...yep..Mama bought them a backup generator for the tank...

I mean what I say, and I say what I mean....and this was no exception....even for a fish.

But it was also for my kids...

Told y'all I was a 'fixer'....
