Or leaving contested ground to the enemy in the middle of a war, never to return.

If, during WWII, you had tried to sell the idea that pulling out of Europe and the Pacific and bringing our military home was not really "surrender" unless Japan and the Third Reich actually tried to take over the U.S., you probably would have simply been thrown out the door.

You can dance around it with however many dim euphemisms you like. If you prefer "capitulation," go for it.

And yes, the estate tax is a death tax, taxing wealth that has usually already been taxed several times in its earning and accumulation. Always has been, and always will be.
