The sectarian violence (the "civil war") in Baghdad and elsewhere has dropped to almost nothing, a fact that seems to make few headlines.
The overall violence remains high: Al Qaeda has stepped up its terror attacks, particularly in the north and east, but they have been mostly beaten in Sunni Anbar.
