This is tragic. The only time bank robbers are a problem is when they are confronted at the bank. Then there can be hostages, violence, all manner of unpleasantries.

And "security" guards are only preventative. Once someone decides to rob a bank, the guard becomes a net minus, almost forces violence.

Let 'em have the money, it's someone else's anyway, and let 'em leave. The vast majority are caught later. It's not worth innocent lives.
