Confirm? Mars Polar Lander still missing, right?

For a news item I'm writing on Mars Phoenix, I intend to say that despite several intriguing but ambiguous blips on hi-res images, no credible sign of the MPL has yet been recongized -- nothing that can help determine whether its failure occurred very late on the landing approach, or earlier, based on debris spread and impact cratering. Is this still true? Thanks!
