As in the United States, there seems to be a huge gap between the government and the peoplel. In Iraq, the people have told the US to get out. They do everything they can to let the US know it's not wanted, from killing Americans, bombing Americans, killing Iraqis who cooperate with Americans (wonder if "Quisling" translates into Arabic), and making the country unsafe for Americans even with armored cars, bodyguards, and so on. Outside the fortress known as the US Embassy, Americans are advised to wear helmet and flak jackets.
