I wouldn't recommend being scared shitless. Although we're Liberals, we have light skins, so the worst that could happen is ending our days in a reeducation camp, come the Reaction (what rightwingers have instead of a revolution). It's kind of like how Islam gives the other two branches of the Abrahamic tree a partial pass, as long as they toe the line. It's only the complete out-group that has to fear for its lives.
What I fear, though "fear" may overstate how I see the future at an advancing age, is religious extremism. Both the "Oathkeepers" and the KKK are explicitly Christianist organizations, and they're the perfect archenemies of Islamists...and together they're a hypergolic Armageddon cocktail with a nuclear-tipped twist. I fear being collateral damage in an insane holy war.
