I was a karateka for many years. Had I been flying then and a situation arisen, I would have been willing to assist. However, these days, with my knees and back, I'm lucky to be ambulatory at all so I'd have to pass. Which I would hate. I could offer to cream someone with my cane but they'd probably confiscate it before I got on the plane.
