One of the official functions of the "Geek Speak" board is to test out things you don't want to mess up other boards with.

There's a link here called "Users Guide" which is helpful in figuring these things out.

Also, make good use of the "HTML preview" function at the top of the text entry box, which helps show you what your post will look like with the links working.
