OK, but....

She mentioned the Middle Ages.
What about 1215 and the Magna Carta?
Sorry, that's an Anglo-Saxon event.

What about the enlightened scholars
in those Dark Ages? Omar Khayyam,
the muslim poet; Roger Bacon, the
humanistic scientist/scholar; Thomas
Aquinius, the Catholic scholar & philosopher;
various muslim scholars who advanced
mathematics, astronomy and chemistry;
Francis Assisi, et al...

Yes, the muslim warriors under Mohammed
slaughtered untold numbers [mostly unarmed
civilians] with the edge of the sword,
with Mohammed's approval. He even
affirmed this practice as an approved muslim doctrine
inserted in the Koran.
[It's still in the Koran today]
Centuries later, the muslim Turks took this barbarity
to a whole new level.

And, Yes, the Papacy of the Middle Ages
tortured and murdered millions with
the full approval of those medieval popes.
[I never believe that any of those medieval
popes were genuine Christians, since they
rejected Christ's teaching of showing
love to one's enemies.

But 21'st century morality?

Is that the same morality also practiced in the 20th century
by the likes of Hitler's followers? The KKK? Mao? Stalin?
Those having butchered, or butchering millions in the Congo, Rwanda, Bosnia,
Cambodia, etc?.....

Sorry....Well meaning as that woman's editorializing is,
human beings don't change for the better or worse
simply because the calendar shows a new century.
