I guessed Tipler lost it back when I read his book on the Anthropic Principle. I read a review on his immortality book and decided it best not to spend good money on it. This last one is definitely a sign of high pathololgy.
I remember once reading about an English philosopher (Chesterton, I believe) who proved using rigourous and impeccable logic that
1) There was a God
2) That he was the Christian God
3) That he was the Protestant Christian God
4) That he was the Protestant Chrisitian God of the Church of England.
To sense the presence of a Creator by a contemplation of the Universe is one thing, you might even be right. But to narrow it down to one particular sect is as difficult to take seriously as a grown man believing in Santa Claus.
