I didn't think it proved this was a legitimate "hot spot".
I'll ask some scientists who work with interpreting and calibrating these THEMIS measurements to get some ideas as to the cause of these high measurements.
One group that occurred to me to ask are the scientists who argued for "caverns" on Mars based in part on the THEMIS daytime and nighttime measurements.
