Well, if I was the researcher I would agree, length of leg is very important. I would first ask, of my ants, 'do those legs go all the way up'?
Of course, I would expect that one would have a veritable swarm of data, what with so many ant species. My graduate students would break out in, um, hives just thinking about the size of the data sets.
