Not a hillside streak, but a wind "tail"
The two images you present both show dark streaks in the same area, but the shape is different, suggesting that this is a seasonal dust "tail" caused by wind blowing around the local hills. These wind streaks are common on Mars, and The Gusev area is quite distinctive for the development of numerous wind streaks, adding up to quite a large local albedo feature.
