Nearly everyone has an agenda and I don't care to read someones agenda. I like to read ancient history because it is less likely to have a political message to convey.
I have been reading The History of Rome by Titus Livius for a couple of years. I recommend that's where you start. Absolutely no Republicans or Democrats in the wood pile.
What has Operation Paperclip have to do with Bush or the GOP and what would I gain by reading Hunt's version of a part of history that I am fairly well familiar with. I am not interested in a book on a writer's embellished value judgments and biased perception.
I read Mein Kampf and that is enough agenda driven drivel to do for a lifetime. Rise and Fall of the Third Reich was also biased but it was informative to a callow twenty something. I have enjoyed some Ayn Rand but I much prefer to read things about her than by her
I received a Republican poll in the mail today. A quick look revealed that it was a stinking push poll and I trashed it. The Dems send out the same kind of garbage.
I could straighten you and almost anyone out in time but the time is never there. Except for my lucky wife, who hates the fact that I am always right about politics and politicians. She has voted opposite to me numerous times but she has always come to see the error of her ways in time.

I read for enjoyment
