Current Events » in reply to Serious question. How many times did the US change direction in WWII.

Not WWII. Third-world, size of CA, no military, against the US.

Don't you think that if Cheney & Bush could have "won" this situation they would have? If, with unlimited Congressional support, the support of the American people, the mightiest military in the world, that those politicians would have "won" if they knew how?

And, do you think that adding 40,000 troops to the 120,000 already there, and the 180,000 mercenary army contracted to keep US troop numbers hidden, will make any difference?

Do you think that Petraeus is really doing "hearts and minds" stuff? And that the damage done in the previous 4.5 years can be undone?

Do you believe that 2.1 million of Iraqis best and brightest who could afford to become refugees can be replaced in the next two generations? That the country will enjoy peace and prosperity with foreign troops unaccountable to local laws patrolling the streets, shooting at will?

Do you believe that changing the name of the political general gives Cheney & Bush the right to 4 more years to bungle? Sort of a "new pitcher, new strikes" grade school game?

I'm curious.
