So much for "hearts and minds", Petraeus, or any "new strategy". "Kill 'em all, the Lord will know his own," as the Crusaders were alleged to have said. Same seems to go for the New Crusaders. You don't have the intelligence or the accuracy to bomb this much and confine it to even mostly badguys. Clearly it's a war against Iraq in general, Iraqis in particular. No matter what political or religious persuasion.

"Iraq Body Count, a London-based, anti-war research group that monitors Iraqi war deaths, says the step-up in air attacks appears to have been accompanied by an increase in Iraqi civilian casualties from air strikes. Based on media reports, it counts a recent average of 50 such deaths per month.

"The Air Force itself does not maintain such data."

Wonder why not. And those are just verifiable deaths. Each with relatives, mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, daughters, sons, aunts, uncles, cousins. And neighbors, if left alive. Friends, folks with whom they worked (when they had jobs), drank coffee, went to weddings, and now funerals.
