Frankly, anyone who accepts any statistics generated by the Cuban government or any monolithic totalitarian nation deserves to have some door-to-door salesman give them a great deal on aluminum siding.

I've been through all this several times, including on other boards. Most people arguing this issue have no frigging clue how the health care system works in this country, never mind the widely-varied versions in other countries.

For example, how many people constantly bitching about the money-hungry medical system are aware that about 80 million Americans covered through private insurance are covered by non-profit insurance organizations (a quick calculation indicates this is about half the total number of Americans covered primarily by private insurance)? Or that 60 percent of privately-owned community hospitals are non-profit?
