The right idea
The concept sure seems like the way to go even if the technology isn’t quite there yet.
Maybe down the road someone will develop some sort of wonder material (Nanotech maybe?) that can remember a persons shape, and exert a muscle-like (contraction) counter force against the body, while mimicking its motions.
Not really an exoskeleton, more like an exo-skin.
