It wouldn't matter if they were aware of these issues. Northrop gets very aggressive when it decides to buy someone. Back before there was a Northrop-Grumman or a Lockeed-Martin, Martin entered into low-key talks with Grumman about a merger. The Martin CEO came to our site and talked to us about how the new combined company would be structured and little on how the Grumman employees would be affected by the merger. Sounded like a good thing. Norhtrop got wind of the talks and launched a hostile takeover of Grumman. They went into serious debt to do it but they obviously got what they wanted - Northrop-Grumman.
Then a few years ago General Dynamics entered into talks with Newport News about a merger. Nothing real public, but an initial agreement was hammered out on the acqusition of Newport News by GD. Again Northrop got wind of it and launched a hostile takeover of Newport News. Again they got what they wanted. Basically Northrop's new motto is "If I can't when a government contract fair and square, I'll buy one"
The point is, even if Scaled knows about the internal problems at Northrop, it doesn't stand a chance of fighting them off.
Sad really because of all the innovations that has come out of Scaled in the past. Northrop will own the rights to all of it and use it as leverage to pressure other companies. Be assured, Branson is about to pay a lot more for his spacecraft than we would if it was just Scaled.
