I am reminded of the woman I recently talked to who told me about
the giant silver UFO that hovered over her home in the wee hours
of the night. Apparently it vibrated her house, which woke her up.
But no one else in the neighborhood saw this object, not even the
police whom she called, cause it had flown away just before they
arrived.
She was quite unhappy with my questions about the incident, which
were terrible things like "Did anyone else witness this event?" and
"Were you able to photograph it?". Apparently I was not supposed
to question her on the subject, period. Plus I was apparently very
unopened minded about the Cosmos for not merely accepting her word
that she said she saw it. Silly me. And she was the one who contacted
me to talk about the alleged event. Apparently I did not realize what a
one-sided conversation it was supposed to be. Silly me.
Then there was the time I "debated" a creationist who knew zip about
the sciences related to the subject, but knew The Truth just the same,
and how I wasn't going to be saved if I didn't accept Jesus Christ as
my personal savior, etc. With spokemen like that, Jesus should think
about hiring new people.
It's actually hard to laugh when you realize how several billion people
all over this planet buy into one form or another of the above nonsense.
