re: Pseudoscopic view?

It's really disorienting, I worked for years as a stereo plotter operator, so I'm familiar with the principles involved, but on earth you have cues like buildings and trees, and familiar landforms, geologic structures and drainage patterns can be used. But Mars is so strange, and even the shadows are of little help because you don't know the spaceraft course relative to the ground. Craters are a guide, but Mars has domes, too, doesn't it? And you are never assured if the stereo pairs weren't transposed by some anonymous technician somewhere along the line so they don't follow the convention of "red is left". By the way, what is the scale of these images, I have no way of knowing how big these scenes are?
