The Sunnis terrorized the Shia majority under Saddam, and allied themselves with Al-Quaeda thugs to provoke a civil war, including the bombing of mosques and the kidnapping, murder and torture of Shia civilians, to try and regain their ascendancy. Now things are turning against them and they're crying foul. If it wasn't for the innocent Sunnis who will suffer, and have suffered, because of the inevitable backlash, this would almost be laughable.
And now, the Sunnis outside Iraq who masterminded this treachery are faced with a massive Shiite state dominated by Iran in their midst. I suppose now they'll come to the US, hats in hand, begging for assistance. It's a heartbreak.
This war isn't turning out the way the US had planned, but it looks like all the other participants are going to get some unpleasant surprises as well. The only thing we can count on is that they will all find a way to blame it on us and the Israelis.
