It essentially IS a graphic novel
It'd be generous to describe the characters as 2 dimensional. A lot of writers attempt to create character-driven stories, where the rich inner lives of the characters are the engine that keeps everything moving. Nothing could be further from the truth with Atlas Shrugged. Rand's characters are cardboard cutouts forced to dance to her tune.
Genuinely, a disappointing read.
